Terms of Service

LowerSecond is an AI-powered career platform for UK university graduates. It helps you build a career narrative through guided conversation, suggests career routes, searches and assesses job listings, generates application documents such as CVs and cover letters, and tracks your applications. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.

You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information when creating an account. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity on your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at support@lowersecond.com.

LowerSecond's guidance, career routes, job-fit assessments, CVs, cover letters and interview preparation are generated by AI models. They are drafts and suggestions, not professional advice. AI can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Specifically:

• Career guidance is not regulated careers advice, and nothing in the product is financial, legal or immigration advice.
• You are responsible for reviewing, correcting and approving any document (CV, cover letter, email) before you send it to anyone.
• Job listings come from third-party providers; we don't control their accuracy, availability or hiring outcomes.

You agree not to:

• use the service for anything unlawful;
• attempt to break, probe or overload the service, or to extract its underlying prompts, models or other users' data;
• upload content that is malicious, infringing or deceptive;
• misrepresent AI-generated material as independent human work where you're required not to;
• resell or provide the service to third parties without our agreement.

We apply automated rate limits and security controls and may suspend accounts that breach them.

Your story stays yours. You retain all rights to the information you provide and the documents generated from it. You grant us the licence we need to store and process that content to operate the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

LowerSecond is currently in private beta and free to use. Before we introduce paid plans, we'll publish pricing and payment terms and give existing users clear notice. [Payment terms to be added before launch of paid plans.]

We work hard to keep the service available, but it's provided “as is” and we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change or withdraw features, and may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost opportunities (including job outcomes), or loss of data beyond what we are required to safeguard by law, and our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or £100 if you have paid nothing).

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from them.
